We Find the Path By Walking

Tavis Smily (to John Stewart) about Maya Angelou:

Sometimes rejection is direction. Sometimes rejection is re-direction. … I wanted her to just tell me in that moment of despair and despondency, what is my role? What am I supposed to do? How do I find my voice? How do I know that I matter in this world?Just tell me the answer to this question, oh wise one, and she replied,

“baby, we find our path by walking.”

The good news is everyone has something to contribute and no matter what age you are … there is a role for you to play.  …but you gotta keep walking that path until you find it”

Amen.  seventeen months later with hindsight – this is more true than ever.
